If you have an BD FacsAria, you might like it.

Everybody with a BD FACSAria knows that the laser interlock can be a drag. You open the lid and immediately the lasers get blocked. Yes, you can stick a pipette tip in there to unblock and the next time use another one and so on and not too small of a pipette tip because it doesn’t push the block far enough and that is if it doesn’t break inside of the instrument.
Here in comes a simple design and some 3D printing and voilà, a permanent, reusable little hook to defeat that interlock. This is the strength of 3D printing, completely custom solutions to your problems. Maybe this example is not what you need but it is just an example.
